I made a major shift in my strategy. It’s just not worth the time and effort anymore and for most people they could chase top rankings for a year or more and never get one. Not only did you lose all the time and money chasing the top rankings, you lost the sales you could have had during all that time. It’s long past the time when people penny pinch and think they can just write some good blog posts and have traffic pouring into their website. You have to do so much now to even have a chance of any success.

The first thing I want you to realize is that you shouldn’t write quizzes off as silly, non-sense entertainment devices. Quizzes are serious lead, brand awareness and cash generators for many businesses, so pooh poohing them is not in your best interest. There’s three big reasons we do quizzes. One is list building, two is sales and three is getting new people to hear about us, commonly called “brand awareness”.

120 – Her fast food experience is really paying off: Tom interviews Rose Haller

Rose is CCO of Restaurant Employee Safety. She was an H.R. manager for a 12 unit fast food franchise and Rose's restaurant safety program lowered the franchise's worker comp multiplier from 1.1315, and then it went to 0.9535, then 0.7014 and finally to 0.6. That year, the franchise earned a 40 percent claim free discount, which saved the company a hundred and eighty nine thousand dollars. So she's gonna give you the details of what all this stuff means.

Let's talk about the forms of broadcast e-mail. I started out with a newsletter called Great Speaking, which was directed towards professional public speakers. Now this was a long time ago, folks. My mindset didn't support a regular output of these newsletters on a certain day every week. I just put it out whenever I had enough to say. I'm just more of a random guy. I mean I refuse to be held to a certain schedule. Now with this podcast, I learned that having a regular schedule grows your audience faster.
