The main thing I'm going to talk about today is one of the techniques that we use to create an insurance policy for our families and for ourselves. And that's called residual affiliate programs. Sometimes they're called recurring affiliate programs. And again, this allows me to legitimately say I couldn't stop the money coming into my checking account if I try.

This can be an insurance policy for your family. I believe you are negligent and I'm not trying to be offensive, but I believe you. Who's listening this are negligent. If you don't get these skills, you're negligent to take care of your own family and to take care of yourself because look what's going on right now. And where do you have to turn? OK, if you had these skills, you can still do whatever you're doing, but then you could supplement or do this full time. So get some skills. We have a school and a mentor program. I've been teaching this for 100000 years. I've been begging people to listen to me and pay attention for just like times like this. [00:04:43] All right. That's my soapbox for today. So one of the things I'm going to talk. I mean, the main thing I'm going to talk about today is one of the techniques that we use to create an insurance policy for our families and for ourselves. And that's called residual affiliate programs. So let's get into that. Sometimes they're called recurring affiliate programs. And again, this allows me to legitimately say I couldn't stop the money coming into my checking account if I try. I know that sounds like B.S.
[00:05:17] I mean, I mean, I have to close all my accounts and go hide out in Mexico. And this is a wonderful feeling and allows you to do things and try things and even take a break if you want or get a forced break like you're on now. Many of you because of the pandemic. And you still have regular money coming in. That's what I'm trying to impress upon you now. I'm a big fan of membership sites and I make a lot of money on my own membership sites. But you do have to keep producing content to keep members happy so they don't unsubscribe from your membership. Not so with residual affiliate programs. The vendor that's the person actually selling the product or service you referred has to keep people happy with their recurring product or service. And if something goes wrong, they have to take care of it. Although if you're willing to add value to the vendor's program, you can make even more money. And I'll address that later. Now, how lucrative can this be? Well, the sky's the limit depending on your skill level and ability to promote. But just one program I've been involved with has averaged I think it came out to about two hundred and forty thousand dollars a year over many years. That's to date, it's about 3.6 million dollars. And I mean, that's considered a rich person's salary the 240 a year just from one program.
[00:06:50] Now I'm going to give and give you a chance to participate in that one later. Now, let me take a little sidebar here and talk about something. I don't think I've touched on much in previous discussions of affiliate marketing. That's two tier affiliate programs two tier means that you are someone else's affiliate. In other words, you recommend someone else's product and get a commission if someone you referred buys the product. That's the first tier. But what if the person you referred decides they want to be an affiliate for the same product? Well, if that company, that vendor has a two tier affiliate program, you get a commission for whatever they sell. The commission is usually smaller than you get for referring someone directly to buy the product, but it's still money. For instance, I pay a 50 percent commission to you if you refer someone to buy one of my e-books. If the person you referred becomes an affiliate and starts selling things, I pay you another 5 percent on whatever they sell. And it adds up, folks. Now, once you get past two tiers, it becomes multi-level marketing, which I want nothing to do with, and I don't suggest you get into it either. I mean, there are much better ways to make money without pissing off your friends and neighbors.
[00:08:15] OK, let's get back to residual affiliate programs. Where do you find them? Well, I've got one with my shopping cart system that has run for years. It's a good example of how not getting greedy can make you more money. Okay. Now in my program, it's based on a private label product. I have called kickstartcart.com. Now a private label sometimes is called a white label. Product is one that another company provides the service or product, but I'm allowed to put my name on it. Now I cover this fully in episode 55 on private label products and I highly encourage you to listen to that episode carefully. That's a way to get products and stuff like in five minutes from now. Anyway, when I sell that product directly, I get a 50 percent commission from the main company on a recurring basis. And when one of my sub affiliates like you, if you decided you wanted to promote the cart, I had a choice. I could take 30 percent of my 50 percent and give you 20 percent. Or I could not get greedy and give you 30 percent. And I only took 20 percent. In other words, I'm giving you more than I get. Guess what happened? Everyone wanted to promote my white label shopping cart kickstartcart.com because I paid them more than all the other greedy white label shopping cart owners were willing to pay. What were the results? Well, I went right to the top of the heap on sales and sales commissions because I didn't get greedy. Now if you think you can promote the cart, let me know and I'll teach you what what you gotta do. Of course, if you're using the cart and this applies to any affiliate product, if you are using the product yourself, you get the benefits of using it and you can more credibly and enthusiastically promote it because you're using it yourself. Another benefit if you're using and getting all the benefits of the product, if you refer only a couple people. The commissions you get end up paying for your use of the cart and you essentially get it for free.
[00:10:41] OK, we're still talking about how to find residual affiliate programs. Well, a simple Google search using the terms residual affiliate programs or recurring affiliate programs brings up literally thousands of products and services that people buy on a recurring basis. I even saw one today for dog food. People certainly buy dog food over and over again. If you had a pet related business, I'd be jumping all over that program.
[00:11:14] Now, here's just a small sampling of things you could promote and get paid over and over again. Web sites. I mean, we promote Thrive website themes. And I'll have a link in the show notes for that. And if you get it, we teach you how to use it, which is another topic I like said about adding value. I'm going to cover that shortly.
[00:11:36] OK, here's some more things. Search engine tools. Live chat tools. Funnel builders. Keyword tools. Web hosting. VPNs, which is a more private web hosting kind of thing. But you know, those are just, you know, you say, well, that's all marketing stuff, Tom. Yeah, but what about supplements and dog food and cryptocurrency and weight loss and cosmetics and all that stuff? Stock market tips and who's more social media programs? And I mean, the list goes on and on and on. Now you can find something you can promote to people that pays you on and on and on. That's the whole point of this.
[00:12:16] All right. Let's talk now about a way to ramp up your ability to get more referrals. It's a little more work. But it can greatly increase the amount of money you make. And that's by adding value. Let me go back to the shopping cart example. One of the reasons I skyrocketed to the top of the heap in resellers for that company is that I offered free unlimited training and one on one tutoring for people who got the cart. Many of the other companies selling the shopping cards give you a tiny bit of training or none at all. And people loved what I was doing because they didn't feel helpless figuring things out on their own. In the beginning, I was given a three hour tutoring session for each new customer, but I soon got to the point where I got so many users, I just couldn't do that. So I put all the training on videos and I had them watch the videos first and then book their tutoring. Everything went way faster because the people already had a good foundation on what the cart was all about. Then when they got on the call with me or one of the staff people here, things went a lot faster and they were still happy because they got all the one on one time they needed and they had the videos to fall back on. Even in the middle of the night if they wanted to learn something.
[00:13:44] Also on one of the Web site builder programs, we give tutoring and teach people how to use it. Sure, the company has videos on it, but people always have questions. And if you take care of those questions right away and personalize the answers to the people asking. They love it. And you have just increased the chances greatly that the person will stick with whatever program you recommended because they now know how to use it and they know who to call if they have a question.
[00:14:16] Now, are you going to get buried with calls? No, you won't. Once people get comfortable using whatever you've taught them, you'll have very little requests from them compared to the additional amount of money you're going to make off of them for keeping them happy. And this can be enormous amounts of money, folks. So get off your butt and help people and you'll make way more affiliate commissions on a recurring basis and you'll beat your competition to death.
[00:14:48] All right, now to promote these things, it's just like, you know, I have 100 of these podcasts on promoting stuff. So you're going to use e-books. I've given away an e-book for years and years that tells about how to use the shopping cart. And people say, oh, I want to do that, but they can't do it unless they buy the cart. I get a commission. Screen capture videos where they see you demonstrating something on the screen. You know, you have to have a good hair day. They're looking at a program or something on the screen that you're promoting. Regular video, e mail, all of these are the standard ways and I have podcasts on all of these things that teach you how to use them, so.
[00:15:30] So that's the residual affiliate program. It's a insurance policy for you to keep money coming in. If you get sick, if you get hurt. Now, I'm going to have to throw in if there's a major worldwide pandemic. I never thought I had to throw that in there. Or if you just want to take a vacation, whatever it is, you're creating security for you and your family. So again, I have to say, if you don't do this, I believe you're negligent. You know, you're just crossing your fingers at some other company is going to support you. Well, you see how that's going. Right. So. Get into that.
