795 – Protect your sensitive data: Tom talks Encrypted QR Codes

It's Labor Day 2023, and I promise I'm going to make this short and sweet, and this is going to be a technical one that I don't even talk about hardly at all, but I want you to know about it so it'll be really quick. It's on encrypted QR codes. Now, if you don't know what a QR code is, I highly suggest that you listen to episodes 241 and 780. Basically, I'll tell you in a minute what they are, but you need to listen to those back episodes and to see all the cool things you can do with QR codes.

Episode 795 – Encrypted QR Codes
[00:00:08] Welcome to Screw the Commute. The entrepreneurial podcast dedicated to getting you out of the car and into the money, with your host, lifelong entrepreneur and multimillionaire, Tom Antion.

[00:00:24] Hey everybody, it's Tom here with episode 795 of Screw the Commute podcast. Basically, I'll tell you in a minute what they are, but you need to listen to those back episodes and to see all the cool things you can do with QR codes and to listen to back episodes you go to screwthecommute.com, slash, then the episode number. That was 241 and 780. All right. We're also in the middle of Vetpreneur Month. Episode 794 was Dustin Perkins, US Coast Guard veteran, and he's dedicated to making magical memories in his very specialized vacation agency. All right. Check out my mentor program at GreatInternetMarketingTraining.com.

[00:01:34] All right, let's get going here. I told you, short and sweet. For those of you that haven't gone back to listen to basic QR code stuff on episodes 241 and 780, A QR code is a graphic that all cell phones, smart phones now can scan with their photo app and then things happen like they're taken to your website or a sales letter or to check out for a product or a bunch of other stuff it can do. So I highly recognize recommend that you listen to those episodes to see all the kinds of things you can do with QR codes, both online and offline, like for flyers and postcards, things like that.

[00:02:13] All right. So today, since it's Labor Day, I'm going to keep this again short and sweet to give you a heads up on a specialized form of QR code, which is an encrypted QR code and what you can do with it. Well, an encrypted QR code is one that can only be read by someone who has the decryption key, and it's usually used for more sensitive information like medical records, credit card numbers, internal sales and marketing stuff. I mean, you know, stuff to protect you against industrial espionage and proprietary information for your small business and and pretty much anything that would hurt you if it was scannable by the general public or you just don't want it to be out in the general public. You want very specific people to be able to read it. And basically, if you have a need and want for security and privacy, these codes can be a good tool for you, not only for your business but for your personal information. And since I promised you this Labor Day message would be short and sweet, it's almost over. I'm going to end it here with a link in the show notes for a complete in-depth article on encrypted QR codes. So check that link in the show notes and Happy Labor Day and I'll be continuing with Vetpreneur Month Wednesday. So I'll talk to you then.
