Episode 774 – Cool Tools
[00:00:08] Welcome to Screw the Commute. The entrepreneurial podcast dedicated to getting you out of the car and into the money, with your host, lifelong entrepreneur and multimillionaire, Tom Antion.

[00:00:24] Everybody is Tom here with episode 774 of Screw the Commute podcast. Today, we're going to talk about some cool tools. Basically, these are chrome extensions. You really need to get in touch with chrome extensions. There's so many tools there. I mean, there's hundreds of thousands in fields like productivity, security, writing, social media, video, SEO, blogging, finding content, all kinds of stuff. So you really should fall in love with that. I picked out five of them today for you to get started. I hope you didn't miss Episode 773. That was Richard Rosser and he is a Hollywood guy. He's got been an assistant director on all the big shows, 24, Grey's Anatomy and like all the way from the 90s. So really fun guy. But also he wrote a book on ChatGPT Simplified. So he'll talk to you about that. Now, if you want to get to a back episode, you go to screwthecommute.com, slash, and then the episode number. He was 773. All right. Pick up a copy of my automation book at screwthecommute.com/automatefree and follow me at tiktok.com/@digitalmultimillionaire on TikTok.

[00:01:42] All right, let's get to the main event. All right. Page marker is a chrome extension. And guess what? It was invented by a high school kid, right? That's why I like to keep young people around. I mean, they're great with technology. But this is a chrome extension. All these ones I'm talking about are totally free. And it lets you mark up web pages with arrows and circles and makes whatever colors you want. And you can save the markup and you can add text and a bunch of other stuff right on any web page you can pull up on your browser. Now, this is great for you coaches demonstrating or showing web pages to your students and and also for live streaming. You can do it live and stuff like this. Like used to be a big pain in the butt. But this extension is called page marker makes it easy. All right, next is To doist. And it's Chrome. These are all chrome extensions, but it's basically an online to do list. But you can do all kinds of cool stuff with it. You can add a web page to your task. You can add blog posts to your reading list. You can save items that you want to do later, and you can plan your day and organize your tasks. And you can complete the task right there. And it you know, it keeps track of everything for you. And and you can go on mobile, too, so you can capture and organize things the moment they pop into your head. I've been preaching that for years. How important that is to capture things when you're thinking about them. And that remembers deadlines, keeps you up to date on stuff, tracks your progress, just all kinds of good stuff.

[00:03:32] So that's to do list. All right. Next is stay focused. And this is right from their description. It says, you sit down at your computer and you swear you're going to be productive and the next thing you know, it's 12 hours later. Right. You've checked your email, updated your Facebook status, blown through 200 pages of Reddit, read every article in your Twitter feed, looked up your favorite band on Wikipedia. Vanity Googled yourself, cyber-stalked your ex. Browse through all your high school crushes Instagram feeds and lost a week's pay playing online poker. So this is a cool thing. So when you set this up. You. You set up how long that you're allowed to be on each one. And when that time is exceeded, it shuts off that app for the rest of the day. Right. And if you want to change the amount of time it hassles you about it and makes you do challenges. So so it's basically a productivity extension and that's stay focused. It's called. All right, next is called print friendly and PDF. I don't know why they named it that, but I mean it makes any kind of web page. So that it's readable and print friendly and it'll remove the ads and other cluttering elements, they say, from the web page. So you can turn it into a good reading experience and print it out and you can delete images and you can change the text size and everything.

[00:05:18] So it's all very handy when you see something online, you want to print it out. I mean, I've printed out web pages and then it's like ended up being 20 pages, one of those super long things. So you can adjust all that with print friendly and PDF. All right. And the last one is called WordTune. This is a great writing if you have to write stuff, emails, blog posts, anything, even in books. It's an AI powered writing companion. This is right from their description and it understands what you're trying to say. It's kind of spooky, I guess, and suggest ways to make your writing more clear, compelling and authentic. Like I said, it'll work. Creating documents. It even exchange like messenger kind of messages to people. It just it takes what you're trying, what you say and gives you like alternatives of the way to say it more clearly. And then you can just click the one and it replaces the one that you wrote. So pretty crazy. And they claim it goes far beyond like grammar and writing assistants like Grammarly and stuff that you already know about. So it offers, like all kinds of new capabilities to help your writing. All right. Well, that's some cool tools.

[00:06:44] Remember chrome extensions? There's hundreds of thousands of them if you just picked one a week. Man by the end of the year. I mean, in a couple of weeks, you'd be far more productive and get your stuff done a lot easier. And some of you say, well, we don't use Chrome. Well, I say, why not? The way I got onto it is my tech guy said, you know, my computers were getting old. He said, just switch to Chrome browser and it'll be like you got a new computer because it was so fast compared to the other browsers. So. So it's certainly worth it to have access to all these cool extensions. And I just gave you just a billionth of a percent of the things that will help you out. So, so I'd say Google like cool chrome extensions and you'll be there. You better put that that stay focused one because you'll be there for days and days picking the ones that you really like.
