Episode 733 – Three Prong Products

[00:00:24] Hey everybody, it's Tom here with episode 733 of Screw the Commute podcast. Today, I'm going to talk about part of my three prong attack, specifically products. And the last couple episodes, 732 was revamping old products so you can make some quick cash. And 730 was creating an ebook Empire. And so now today, 733, is making a new product fast. It's all part of my three pronged attack. Hey, there's a free masterclass coming up today and tomorrow. You got to jump on this now at Screwthecommute.com/freemasterclass. [00:01:53] Now let's get to the main event. Today. I want to challenge you to slam together a low priced product that you can crank out fast. I'm going to suggest that you charge $7 for it. And this is all part of my three pronged attack on a seven figure income. I created that around 1996, and it's still valid today.

[00:02:16] The three prongs are website and your e-commerce system. That's prong one. Your database of people under your control. That's prong two and products that's prong three in this episode is working in the product prong. Okay. I want you to create a special report or short book on on a how to topic in your industry. It doesn't have to be some earth shattering revelation. It just needs to inform your followers about something they've been wondering about. Now, at this time in history, I'm going to suggest you do something about AI or artificial intelligence. It's crazy popular. It's all over the news right now. But most laypeople don't know what it's all about. And unless they're in a tech field, they certainly don't know how it affects their specific industry. Now. You don't have to, do I? But it just happens to be hot now. So let's say you're going to take my suggestion and do your special report or short book on this topic. The first thing I want you to do is come up with a title. I want it catchy and I want it to emphasize the word easy and I want or something about it being easy or easily explainable or whatever. And I want you to name the target audience in the title. And I've found that you have way, way easier way to sell stuff of your products When you name the target audience in the title. And frequently you can adjust your product slightly and name a different target audience and that way you're getting multiple products out of the same one, but they sell easier because you've retitled them and adjusted them slightly for different audiences.

[00:04:11] So here are some example titles I made easy for insurance executives. Another one. I for authors the easy way to crank out books and not get accused of plagiarism. You know stuff like that. Now, I'm not trying to force this AI thing down your throat, all right? It just happens to be timely. You can do any topic that your industry needs to have a better understanding of. Okay, so now you have a title, Now you research the topic with a quick Google search, and in this case, you can search Google for AI and insurance or AI and authors. Guess what? You can also use artificial intelligence to do this research for you. And don't worry if someone has written something on your topic, that's a mistake people make all the time. They think if there's already something out on the topic, why would somebody buy theirs? Well, they will. You have your own people that believe in you and you'll have your own stories and experience that make the product unique. And another thing, keep in mind, people buy everything they can on a topic, even if there is some duplication. I've talked many times about my tennis DVDs. I have a six foot banquet table, three feet high with tennis, DVDs and videos. It's probably 8 or 10 of them on serves, and out of those 8 or 10 on serves, probably 80% of them are duplicates. I'm just looking you know, tennis crazies are always trying to find that one little tip, you know? So don't worry if there's things already out there right now, write up your report or short book in a word processor spell.

[00:06:04] Check it. Take a sample book cover out of Canva. That's a free program and change the text to put on your title and name. You're basically making a graphic, a book cover graphic and convert the entire thing to PDF, and you now have a saleable piece of intellectual property. And of course as everything when I teach stuff to read, it should lead to something else coaching, consulting, speaking. Engagements, whatever. Or more product sales. All right. Now, I know I'm making this sound overly easy, but once you go through the process a couple times, you'll see that it is easy and you can crank out these things at will. Now, if you keep them all on the same topic area, you can bundle them together as a series and sell them all together. Or people can pick and choose which ones they want to buy. So I'm challenging you to jump on this and make one of these. It shouldn't take more than a day or so. And let me know about it. And when you do and send it to me, I'll feature it on a future episode. How about that? To help you sell it? All right. Make sure you sign up for that free masterclass at Screwthecommute.com/freemasterclass. It's today and tomorrow, so you've got to jump on this right now, and I will catch you on the next episode. Don't forget to send me that new e-book or special report that you create. Catch you later.
