SUMMARY BY CHATGPT

Tom Antion explains why staying top of mind with your audience is essential, even when you're busy with other projects. The goal is to remain visible and valuable without constantly selling.
Key Points:
• Stay visible without always selling.
o Constant sales pitches can fatigue your audience.
o Mix educational, entertaining, and personal content with occasional promotional messages.
• Consistency builds long-term trust.
o People often follow someone for months or years before making a purchase.
o Remaining visible keeps you in consideration when they're finally ready to buy.
• Use multiple channels to stay top of mind.
o Facebook Stories and Instagram Reels
o TikTok
o LinkedIn
o YouTube (shorts and long-form)
o Podcasts
o Email newsletters
o Articles, mini-courses, publicity, and even personal phone calls
o Personal posts (family, hobbies, pets) help people connect with the person behind the business.
• Automation keeps your marketing running.
o Schedule content in advance so your audience continues hearing from you while you're focused on other work or traveling.
o Tom highlights his updated Automate Free book as a resource for implementing these systems.
• Know your audience.
o Every market has a different tolerance for promotional content.
o Balance value and marketing to avoid overwhelming followers.
Key Takeaway:
The most successful marketing isn't about selling every day—it's about remaining consistently visible and valuable. By sharing useful content, personal stories, and occasional promotions across several platforms (preferably automated), you build familiarity and trust that eventually leads to sales.

Episode 1156 – Top Of Mind
[00:00:08] Welcome to Screw the Commute. The entrepreneurial podcast dedicated to getting you out of the car and into the money, with your host, lifelong entrepreneur and multimillionaire, Tom Antion.
[00:00:24] Hey everybody, it's Tom here with episode 1156 of Screw the Commute podcast. Today we're going to talk about the value, and ways, to stay top of mind. Top of mind. And let's see, I hope you didn't miss episode 1155. That was Photo Management part two. And you probably want to hit up 1150, which was part one for photo management, because I see it all the time, and I'm guilty myself of searching for 20 minutes to find one photo that I wanted. So I'm fixing that in those two episodes. Anytime you want to get to a back episode, you go to screwthecommute.com/episode number. The two photo managements were 1150 and 1155 and hope you did. Hey, listen. Oh, I'm so excited. screwthecommute.com/automatefree is my automation book that you get for listening to this show. And version 4.0 is out. It's been a couple of weeks. I've been working on it or maybe more than that, I don't know, but 4.0. So go to screwthecommute.com/automatefree and grab 4.0. And the way I designed this one is you can read each chapter if you want, or almost all the chapters. You can skip the reading and go right to the practicals section that has the what to do, how to do it and all that kind of stuff, right? So, check that out. It's finally out today. And also my mentor program, greatinternetmarketingtraining.com and my school IMTCVA.org, certified to operate by SCHEV.
[00:02:10] All right. Let's talk about top of mind. Some people call it, and I never really heard this, but when I was researching a little bit, some people call it front of mind, but top of mind is the one that you you mostly hear. And to me, it's, you know, not everything is direct selling and direct income. Now, this lady Maria went very successful lady. Everything she does you got you got to buy something, everything you know. So so I even though I like her, I got kind of sick of her because it's always here's, you know, buy this, buy this, buy this, buy this. That's all it is. So and, and also, I'm busy with a lot of things in my life. Like we're remodeling a rental house and remodeling my childhood house. That's nine hours away, and I actually drove to Idaho with one of my dogs and drove back to pick up a specialty four wheel drive vehicle that I rebuilt. I mean, so do a lot of stuff, and I don't want to disappear from the face of the earth because with the the glut of people out there that are telling you, oh, you'll get rich, you'll do this or that, you know, I got the method, nobody else does. And all this crapola, it's still out there. It's a lot of noise. And so and I don't care what field you're in, there's probably a lot of noise in it. And so when I'm doing something else, I'm still top of mind in my different markets.
[00:03:45] And for instance, I'm well known in the internet and digital marketing arena because I've been in it since the beginning, before almost anybody you've ever heard of. I was there, okay. And still here. A lot of them thrown in jail and got their assets frozen. You've heard a lot of these names. I won't name them here. And for small business. So? So. And am I worldwide name? Absolutely not. You don't have to be to make a fortune. Okay. But in probably several million people know about me and they give me money, you know, not all of them, but they know about me. And some of them knew about me for years before they gave me any money because of what I stayed top of mind. Another thing that I'm real big in is professional level speaking. I said I haven't been beaten in back of the room sales in 25 years. And, uh, it's entertaining and high quality and low pressure, so nobody ever complains. So I'm extremely well known in that arena. But again, I'm not Tony Robbins. You don't have to be. Say so. So those are two big ones. Now some small ones is fatso tennis. A tiny little, uh, people have heard of me there. And another tiny one that I push a little harder to stay top of mind is brutal self-defense. Because I've been in gunfights and knife fights and bikers trying to kill me and so forth.
[00:05:21] So every once in a while, you'll see me put out an ad in one of my Facebook stories or Instagram or something that, uh, brutal self-defense stuff, because it's more lucrative to if somebody does end up buying the course, it's, it's more than the fatso tennis course. Right? So it's good to stay top of mind, especially when life gets in the way or you want to do something else. And like I said, I haven't really been active hardcore selling for a while now because I got my documentary I'm working on that's that's come out. The producer, like I said, had some real serious losses. So I had, you know, take kind of take over the marketing of that and that's a big deal. So I got to spend time on that. And then, like I said, these construction projects, renovation of the retreat center, there's three, three major construction projects going on and, you know, rescue dogs and, you know, and, and, uh, protection dogs. That's another tiny little tiny, tiny, tiny little niche that I would have been heard of. And so, so it's good to have these things to keep you top of mind when you're doing something else. And then if you're too busy to get hardcore and really concentrate. Oh, and I just came out with the new book I just told you about. I've been working on that for the last month. All right. So when I'm busy, it's good to have this stuff going.
[00:06:48] So I'm going to give you a bunch of ways that you can stay top of mind in your particular audience. And one of them that you may see all the time from me is Facebook stories because they are so, so easy. Now, admittedly, they only last for 24 hours and then they turn into a. And then at the same time I put the story up, it turns into a real a face, you know, an Instagram reel. But the way I do most of them is Capcut, the free video editor. And I actually, I think pay $10 a month for the pro version. But they have a thing called templates and it does all kinds of crazy stuff. For instance, today there's one where one of my dogs is singing opera. All right. And then it says, you will not learn how to sing at my school. And then the link to my school say so. It's funny. And top of mind. And my school was out out there, you know. So. So that's a simple one that's done with templates. You just click on what templates you want and it says, okay, upload three photographs and then you pick three photographs and hit go and it and a minute later you have this crazy thing. Uh, if you wanted crazy, it doesn't have to be crazy. Some are elegant, some are beautiful, you know? So there's all kinds of different templates you can just plug plug into, uh, TikTok.
[00:08:20] I got like one of my TikToks has 650,000 views. And you know what? I don't think any sales ever came from that, but that's 650, 000 people that heard of me. See, because I was the face of it. And then, you know, I've got a couple hundred TikTok videos and X I haven't done a whole lot on. I'm I'm probably going to increase that this year. Linkedin. I'm there. My profile is really optimized. It's really good, but I haven't put a lot of effort into putting content on there because I don't know, it's more big business people there than small business that are my market. So I haven't put the greatest effort there. But still I'm there and I get a thing every week. Okay, so many people looked at your profile. That's being top of mind. Somebody got interested enough in my name to go and look at my LinkedIn profile. And I don't know if they bought anything. You know, it's hard to keep track of that kind of stuff. If they saw me on LinkedIn and then went and bought something off my website or, you know, something, I don't know how many courses you can put out. And a lot of times if they're evergreen, those will serve you for a long, long time. Free. Many courses articles serve you for a long time. Youtube videos, shorts, and long form even phone calls. You know, sometimes I'll call somebody up a good customer and say, hey, how you doing? Everything good with the product and all that publicity.
[00:09:55] Uh, that's a great way because it carries a lot of credibility. And so I happen to have one right now. Screwthecommute.com/publicity. It's an hour long with Starley Murray and I talking about publicity, and she's like the celebrity image coach and coach known around the world. And so we horse around a lot because we've known each other. But there's a lot of good tips in just that simple hour that could literally change the course of your entire career. All right. That's how I got my career started. I was publicity and you can put personal stuff up. See, because it's not always people like to know there's an actual person, not just a business. And so I'll put stuff up about, like I said, my martial arts, my my dogs. And you know, sometimes there won't even be a website on there. It'll just be a cute, you know, reel or Facebook story about my dogs, that kind of stuff. Giving away freebies that keeps you just like I'm doing today with the brand new automation book that I sweated over for a month or so. Uh, Instagram. Another one, and probably the two biggest ones for me are my podcast, which you're on right now and my email list, see? So every week they get a die and they kind of help each other because every week they get a digest of that week's three episodes all in one place.
[00:11:26] But it's also another place where I can put my pro speaking masterclass in my publicity. And, you know, the different podcasts. I got a great podcasting masterclass screwthecommute.com/pod. And again, all of these are great, great high content things given them given to people. And a percentage of them come back and buy and they get in my mentor program and they get in my school. But it's because I'm top of mind in these fields all the time consistently. That's a big thing is consistency because you can schedule stuff now where it used to get penalized for scheduling. But on that trip to Idaho, you know, that was a long that was 4000 miles each way driving, okay, sleeping in the truck. And I mean all kinds of crazy stuff got into on that trip, but I was staying top of mind in my fields by these automation techniques. So which I just told you about automate free is out version 4.0. Go get it. screwthecommute.com/automatefree. So there's a great value of staying top of mind, even. And a lot of it leads to sales. But you don't always want you to lead to sales on all of them, because people will get sick of you like that one lady's great. She's really great, but she just never shuts up. There's always you got to buy something every time she opens her mouth. That's not my way. And I'm in his successful as she is, which she is very successful.
[00:13:01] It's not my market. I mean, if I tried to do that every day, people would just leave in droves, you see? So so you got to understand your market and how much selling they can actually take. So top of mind, stay top of mind. That's what we're talking about today. And then I highly encourage you to, to save a lot of time for yourself to take the time to listen to episode 1150 and 1155 on photo management, because I can't tell you how many times people want to show me a picture and 20 minutes later they can't find it. So those two episodes will pretty much take care of that, and you will save hundreds of hours of searching for crap when you know it's there, but you just can't find it and it's all right on your phone. You don't have to buy anything extra. It's all right on your phone. Just nobody taught you how to use it. Okay. Let's see. Check out my mentor program if you want one on one help with this and 100,000 other things you got to know about to be successful online. And my school, IMTCVA.org, is certified to operate by the State Council on Higher Education in Virginia. But you don't have to be in Virginia because it's quality distance learning. Okey doke. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Hey, let's see you get the top of my mind. How about that? Catch you later.
