SUMMARY BY CHATGPT

In this episode of the Screw the Commute podcast, Tom Antion shares a simple and effective technique to increase YouTube subscribers using a "sub confirmation link."
Key Points:
1. Sub Confirmation Link Overview:
o Add ?sub_confirmation=1 to the end of your YouTube channel's URL.
o When users click this link, they are prompted with a subscription confirmation box, making it easy to subscribe.
2. Usage Tips:
o Distribute the link in various places, including:
 Video descriptions (near the top).
 Pinned comments on videos.
 Channel banner and bio section (keep text concise to avoid the "More" button).
 Emails to your audience.
 YouTube’s community section using memes or text posts.
3. Limitations:
o The link may not work in the YouTube app on mobile devices, but it functions properly in mobile browsers.
4. Benefits:
o Simplifies the subscription process, ensuring more people subscribe when exposed to your channel.
o Eliminates reliance on verbal calls to action, making it more direct.
5. Additional Resources:
o Tom mentions tools like Pretty Links for shortening URLs.
o He also promotes his automation e-book (Automate Free), his licensed internet marketing school (IMTCVA.org), and his long-running mentor program (GreatInternetMarketingTraining.com).
Conclusion:
The "sub confirmation link" technique is a straightforward way to boost YouTube subscriptions by streamlining the process for potential subscribers. Tom emphasizes integrating this link in multiple touchpoints for maximum impact.

Episode 950 – Sub Confirmation
[00:00:09] Welcome to Screw the Commute. The entrepreneurial podcast dedicated to getting you out of the car and into the money, with your host, lifelong entrepreneur and multimillionaire, Tom Antion.

[00:00:24] Hey everybody! It's Tom here with episode 950 of Screw the Commute podcast. Today, I'm going to show you how to get tons more subscribers and this is called the sub confirmation link. I'll tell you how to do it in a minute. It's not that hard. Hope you didn't miss episode 949. That was watch time and how important it is for you to be seen by more people and get more views. And YouTube will show you to more people if you do a good job with watch time. Now, anytime you want to get to a back episode, you go to screwthecommute.com, slash, then the episode number. Watch time was 949. And all of this is part of my YouTube series. I'll be giving you in the future the beginning and ending number of episodes that are in the series. But all of these little tips and tricks will help you get lots more views and watch time and success with your YouTube channel. Now pick up a copy of our automation e-book at Automate Free. Check out my school at IMTCVA.org. It's the only licensed, dedicated internet and digital marketing school in the country.

[00:01:33] All right, let's tell you about this little link technique that you can use. The first thing that you do is you pull up your YouTube channel in a browser window, and then there's going to be a URL to that specific your specific channel. What you're going to do is copy that into like a notepad or notes on a mac. So just a plain text editor.

[00:02:01] And then you're going to put the following string of text right at the end of the link. You're going to put ?sub_confirmation=1. Now there's no no spaces in this link. So at the end of your channel link you're going to put question mark sub underscore confirmation equals one. All right. Then you're going to distribute that link. Now I suggest you use something like pretty links to cloak the link to make it shorter and easier. But you don't have to. But you distribute that link and there's lots of ways you can do that. I'll get to that in a minute. But when somebody clicks on that link, it takes them to your channel and hits him in the face with a box that says Confirm Channel subscription, and they can either cancel or hit subscribe. If they hit subscribe, they just subscribed. That just about the easiest possible way to your channel. And now if they've already subscribed, they won't see that. But if they are not a subscriber, they're going to do that before they can watch the video that you're sending them to or the or to your channel where they can look at all your videos. So this is a very powerful thing to get way more subscribers, because when you see videos all the time says, oh, hit subscribe and hit the like button and people don't know what to do and it's a hassle.

[00:03:45] This is right in front of their face. All right. Now what can you do? Now, the one caveat, unless they have fixed this recently, is that if it's on a cell phone or tablet. It's going to work if they just click on it and it goes to their mobile browser. But if they happen to be logged in to a YouTube app, apparently it doesn't work. So. But anyway, it's going to get you way more subscribers than you have now. What can you do with this link? Well, you put it all kinds of places. You can put it in your about like bio area. You can put it in a pinned comment at the top of each video. You can put it in your descriptions. You can put it in your banner. You can email it to people. That's what I'm going to do as soon as I do this. If it's in your description, keep it to the near the top of your description and if it's in your bio area, you want to try it. Generally, if you keep it, the first line of your your about thing under 95 characters, you can put this link on the second Line before you want to try to avoid them having to hit the more button on that before they see this link. So just keep everything short and keep it available so all they have to do is click on it anywhere in your channel, and it's going to take them back to the channel or anywhere on your any one of your videos that they happen to see from some other reason.

[00:05:18] And if they just trip on them from, you know, YouTube shows it to them. Well, if these if this link is all over your, your description and your banner and everything, then when they click on it, they will have an easy way to subscribe that hits them right in the face. And also you can use it in your community section. You know, YouTube has a community section. I'll do a separate, uh, episode on that where you can make memes and you don't have to shoot any videos for this. You can make memes and or just text files and put it in your community Section and put that link there. All right. So this can get you tons more subscribers. It's called the sub confirmation technique. And that string of text once more is after the link to your channel. You put question mark sub underscore conformation equals one and distribute that and boom boom boom you'll get a lot more subscribers. All right. So besides my school check out my mentor program at GreatInternetMarketingTraining.com. It's the longest running, most successful, most unique internet and digital marketing mentor program ever, running since around 1997 or so. So I've gone through and helped a lot of people have successful online businesses. So check it out at GreatInternetMarketingTraining.com and I will catch you on the next episode. See you later.
