Today, I'm talking about low content and no content books. And this is kind of funny for me to be talking about low content books when I'm kind of known for high content books. I mean, I had one that sold for ten years and it was 1042 pages and not quite the low content category.

Episode 708 – Low Content Books
[00:00:08] Welcome to Screw the Commute. The entrepreneurial podcast dedicated to getting you out of the car and into the money, with your host, lifelong entrepreneur and multimillionaire, Tom Antion.

[00:00:24] Hey, everybody, it's Tom here with episode 782 Screw the Commute Podcast. Today, I'm talking about low content and no content books. And this is kind of funny for me to be talking about low content books when I'm kind of known for high content books. I mean, I had one that sold for ten years and it was 1042 pages and not quite the low content category. Anyway, I'm going to take you on a journey with me and creating a book that's actually going to save me money as I was paying about $10 a piece for a note taking binder for my mentees. But anyway, there's all kinds of categories of these low content and no content books. And we'll talk about it today. Now, I hope you didn't miss episode 707. That's where I did another unique kind of thing in that I reviewed a Forbes article called Seven Digital Marketing Concepts That will Matter in 2023. Two of them I've been talking about for years. And and you can listen to that episode and all back episodes by going to screwthecommute.com, slash and then the episode number. That was 707. Hey, make sure you follow me on TikTok. My account is really doing well at tiktok.com/@digitalmultimillionaire. And a lot of people don't know that the ad sign can be put into a URL. So it's tiktok.com/@digitalmultimillionaire and hey pick up a copy of our automation book at screwthecommute.com/automatefree and we sell this book for 27 bucks but it's yours free for listening to the show and you will thank me if you use just a portion of what's in the book because it saved me. We actually estimated 8 million keystrokes. Okay, just one of the tips. So it'll save you tons of time and taking care of all your computer stuff.

[00:02:30] All right. Let's get to the main event. We're going to talk about low content and no content books. Now I'm going to list off a bunch of the kinds of books that I'm talking about. And now here's the thing that folks, you're going to see a lot of usually young people saying, Oh, this is oversaturated. Well, yeah, in many ways that it is because it's so darn easy to do. It attracted enormous numbers of goofballs that just slop stuff up on Amazon and they're not selling. And so they disappeared off the face of the earth. But you got all these people have books up there that are just drowning out there. You know, they're making a lot of noise. So you don't can't sell your book. Well, not true. If you do what I tell you in today's episode, there's all kinds of options to niche down here. Anyway, here's a big list of things journals now people love to journal.

[00:03:30] And there's there's one woman's prayer journal I saw making $1,000 a day. Right now, that's not typical, Right? But it can be done. You have sketchbooks. What? You're just totally blank pieces of paper notebooks. You have blank music for musicians. You know, just the the musical note bars, log books like for eating, exercising, meditation, and the mind's going to be the Screw the Commute log book on marketing. In other words, what did you do today to pursue your goal of working for yourself? Keep you on track. That's been one of the the the biggest hurdles for people in my mentor program is consistency. They need to keep working stuff and and keep a log because you can get lost in the shuffle easily. And my three prong attack even doesn't keep them all on track when they're in the middle of the weeds. So the people that overcome this and keep track of what they're doing are the ones that make the money. So I'm going to help them along with this book that I'm going to make. All right. Let's see what else you got. You got meditation, log books, you got planners and calendars and puzzle books and coloring books for both adults and children. You got kids books on games and math problems. And, you know, these are even little tiny kids shapes and letters, knowing their letters, all those kinds of things. Then you got a whole different thing, like guest books for funerals and weddings.

[00:05:08] And I don't know, some people say those are the same too. Same thing. I don't know. Recipe books. And there's the list goes on and on and on. So this is a field where there's a lot of action. There's people buy these things and and you could jump in way easier than writing a whole book. Although writing a book is fairly easy if you take my book Mastermind course, but this is even easier. So what do you have to do to be successful with this and not just get lumped into the oversaturation and think about this. Maybe you're only shooting for $50 a day would change your whole life, and maybe only a couple hundred dollars a month would help you out. Or or maybe you want to make a publishing empire and crank out hundreds of these books. Well, you certainly can do any of these things. But but first, let's talk about what's important and what the thousands of people that fail with this are doing wrong. Well, first you have to have a topic that has a demand. And it's a super mistake to just put out a journal book that's blank. I mean, that market is massively oversaturated. Just like myself. And tons of successful marketers have told you you must niche down or niche. Depending on which side of the tracks you were born on. Niche down. Keyword research like I've espoused in episode one and episode 130 is your first stop.

[00:06:43] But in this case, it's not just Google searches, it's Amazon searches. We want to know what's going good on Amazon and look at our competitors and what they're doing. And just like my other books, I concentrate on Amazon because that's where the money is. All the other places that you can put books and ebooks, they're just a waste of time in my niche show. This show is my new my new acronym for Not so Humble Opinion. Remember, you heard it here first, then this show next. The super important thing is your book cover. Now, if you skimp out on that, God help you. It must look professional. But that doesn't mean it must cost a lot. In fact, you could use Canva, which I have done many times, to adapt one of their hundreds of professionally designed covers to your topic. Now, if you're pitiful with that or you don't want to fool with that, then you can get fantastic work on five or for as little as 30 bucks. I mean, that $30 investment could be the difference between one sale a month and 100 sales a day. All right. That's how important book covers are, especially on Amazon, where they can just instantly see 100 different books on the topic. You're talking about probably. So yes, in low or no content publishing, you can simply make a sketchbook with blank interior pages. So so that's the next part of this.

[00:08:15] But if you explore all the types of books I just mentioned, you'll see that they do have an interior and it should look professional. You can take templates and customize them. So the book has more value than the many people who just slop a bunch of crooked blank lines in the interior and call it a day. Now I'm going to have some commentary in the beginning of mine that talks about keeping yourself accountable and moving forward if you really want to screw the commute. So I'm having a little bit of a hybrid. I'll have like an introductory part, and then the rest of the book will be log things that you can put to date and what you did that day to pursue your goal of screwing the commute or or making more money if you've already screwed the commute. Plus, I'm going to have bounce backs in the beginning of the book to get people on my email list. Say. If you sell a book on Amazon, they get the customer info you don't. So you always want to give people a reason to visit your website and opt in. So in addition to getting paid for this book, which I'm creating for free. It's bring going to bring in leads. That from my email list, which usually cost me money to get more people on the email list. So it's a beautiful thing. Now there's a program that just came out, or it's been out for a little while, but now they really improved it called Book Bolt.

[00:09:47] Now I'm just learning how to use it. That's going to help make these books like Lightning Fast because it has templates for all kinds of things you can't imagine. So I'll report on that. I've been studying it all this morning and I'm going to use it to create my book. And it does have a book cover designer, but I have a really nice design with my screw the commute from Kathy Dunn, who was a major, major book designer for many years till she retired. So I'm going to use that. So I'll let you know how it goes and take you along on this journey with me. Normally I talk about stuff I've already made loads of money on, but I also like to keep you up to date on things I'm doing to see if they worked, if they didn't work for me. It's an automatic work because it's going to. I'm going to give these to my mentees who give me a lot of money to be in my program, so it'll be a nice thing. And plus I was paying 1010. It was either $10 or $13 apiece for the binder that they get with to take notes on with a little tablet in it, you know, customize. So this will be a complete book that they'll have and it'll be way cheaper and it will be pretty cool.

[00:11:06] And other people can buy it and keep themselves on track if they want to screw the commute and be in the online marketing business. So so there you go. So that's low content, no content books. I suggest if you want to get into this field, check out book Bolt. I don't have an affiliate link. I'll try to get one, but it's bookbolt.io and look into all the types of low content and and no content books and see if you can make one Now the sketchbooks like I said, they're just blank pages. There's nothing in it except blank pages. So the cover is critical to niche for specific group of artists or whoever. And but you'll see all kinds of stuff. They have puzzle books and Sudoku things I don't even know how to pronounce it. I hate those kinds of things. I do like crossword puzzles. So they have all these templates for things that you can just pop in and multiply it over 100 pages if you want. So that's low content and no content books. Check it out and follow me on the journey. I'll be coming back with future episodes to let you know how it's going and probably have links to where you can see the cover and all the things that I've done with the book. All right, that's my story too. I'm sticking to it. I'll catch you on the next episode. See you later.
