Episode 588 - Loom
[00:00:09] Welcome to Screw the Commute. The entrepreneurial podcast dedicated to getting you out of the car and into the money, with your host, lifelong entrepreneur and multimillionaire, Tom Antion.

[00:00:24] Hey everybody, it's Tom here with episode 588 of Screw the Commute podcast. Today we're going to talk about Loom. I did not say Zoom. I said loom. Okay. This is going to be another quick episode to give you a free tool that is a game changer. Like the last training I did was on Speak Pipe. I forget what episode that was. I think it was 586 maybe. But this will change your change your world, too, and it's free. So check that out. This episode is going to be quick and game changing. All right, so hope you didn't miss episode 587. That was Jeff Cohen. And, yeah, one of the best lines we ever had on here for a product is Put your tush on my Kush. Anyway, he has a very unique leadership concept called Count Able and or Count Count Honourable excuse me. And so, yeah, I was teasing about Count Chocula and stuff. So Count Audible, which really makes people that you're leading want to do the job rather than be forced to do the job. So check that out. Now pick up a copy of our automation e-book at screwthecommute.com/automatefree and also get a copy of our podcast app. It's screwthecommute.com/app. Put us on your cell phone and tablet and take us with you on the road.

[00:02:01] All right. Let's get into the topic today. This is Loom and the difference between you know it's rhymes yeah Loom and Zoom, but they're two totally different things. Loom is a video messaging tool and Zoom is a video conferencing tool, and you can share screens and all kinds of stuff. But Loom is a video messaging tool and it'll record your camera, microphone and desktop simultaneously. Now there's other things that'll do that also, but they're much more expensive. You can start this one two day for free and it'll work on Mac, it'll work on Windows, it'll work on your iPhone or your Android, and it's even a chrome extension, but it'll work on all browsers. So the options you can do is you can record your cam only like your webcam only, and when you do that, you can have backgrounds that they just provide for you. I'm not sure if you can upload custom ones, but you can use their backgrounds, you can record your screen only. Now I happen to use Camtasia for that and I have been using it for like 22 years now, but it's really expensive compared to a free, free thing. The other thing it'll do, it'll record your screen and your cam so you can be have yourself in a little bubble or circle while people are looking at your screen. Now, the free version gives you 5 minutes recording time for for the free version per video. Now they have this thing for education. If you're a student or a teacher, you can use the free version for school stuff.

[00:03:53] And do 45 minute videos. So that's a that's a great. They're really trying to tap the education market. And if you're a paid customer, your videos can go up to 6 hours. I don't know who's going to do a continuous video for 6 hours, but. But there you go. Now, once you and I can just tap an icon on my Chrome browser and the thing pops up and asks me what I want to do, boom, boom, click it and then I can. I'm going to show you in a minute all the things you can do with this thing, but you could. Once I'm done with the video, I can link it. Now, depending on how savvy you are with using HTML in your email, you can embedded in an email, but you can certainly put the link in and when they click in it then they get a custom video and the link is similar to the unlisted link in YouTube in that nobody can see it unless they have the link. Unless you want it to be public and searchable, then you can make the settings for that. So here are some things you can do with it. You can make customer personal. Customer. Thanks. And then you can suggest to them what the next move is from what they bought and how to take advantage of it or whatever. You can respond to emails so much easier. I mean, it's you know, there's when mentees ask me a question, sometimes there's just too many nuances to type that out and really get the message across.

[00:05:26] But a simple Zoom video, I can emphasize what needs emphasized and I don't have to type and so forth. So. So it's a it's a great way to respond to emails. Well, you can also do walkthroughs and trainings. When somebody bought something of yours, you can show them how to use it. That's a handy thing. Like I said, I use Camtasia because I can go for unlimited lengths of time. But, you know, it's and it's very robust. It's basically a video editor. This loom thing is not although you can do simple trim the front and back if you want and simple things on it. But like I said, for free, it's it's really a game changer and it's so easy to embed in emails. That's the beauty of it. You can make proposals and quotations when people are trying to get you to see if they want to hire you. You can make a personal quotation and proposal to them. Another cool thing you can do is just out of the clear blue with some of your better customers. Do a personal check in with them. Just say, hey, just thinking how you're thinking about you. How are you doing? How's everything going with the widget you bought or whatever? And many times people will say, Well, I've been meaning to get a hold of you. I need to place an order or something like that. See, they can respond, click or reply and respond to you. Now, I haven't had many people do that because they might be afraid of being caught off guard on video, but they can respond to you.

[00:07:07] And at the very least, even if they can't respond to you, they can. You reminded them of you and they can go ahead and place their order or get in touch with you. You can do short social media posts also with this. And if you have a team of people, it's so much easier to get rid of some of your meetings. Although using loom, although I do like to meet a couple of times a week face to face via zoom. And not just for business stuff. We do business stuff, but we talk about kids and animals and stuff we're reading and things we're doing to improve ourselves. And I like that. It really keeps keeps us up on each other's lives. And it's a nice thing. Now the you've got the free version, which you can sign up for today. But the business version is only $8 a month now that's paid annually. It's I think it's $10 a month if you pay monthly. And so $8 a month, $96 a year to have this tool, that can be a real game changer. Just think of this. Just think about this. If you had if you just went through your shopping cart, kickstart cart, of course, and ran a report on the people that spent the most money and just followed it up with five or ten of them. Do you think none of them would probably buy something else? You know, this is something that can fall by the wayside very easily because you're busy doing stuff and trying to get new customers.

[00:08:40] Well, don't forget about the customers that have treated you well over the years. And a lot of times they're the most likely to come back and spend more money. Okay. So there's a quick thing on loom. Go sign up for the free version. And hey, if you want training on this and the thousand other things you need to be successful online, check out my mentor program at GreatInternetMarketingTraining.com. It's the longest running, most unique, most successful ever in the field of internet and digital marketing. And I triple dog dare you to find any other program line for line that can that can hold a candle to mine. And I want you to take advantage of that because I'm a crazy fanatic. I mean, I just did a thing. I told the lady I just got back from church. It was Sunday morning, 9 a.m.. I was doing a consultation with her, so I just got back from church. She said, Oh, that's nice. Yeah. I said, Yeah, Saint Mattress. So, so I'll do it day and night and whatever it takes to to take care of you. That's what I'm made of. All right, so, folks, that's Loom. Go check it out. And, hey, send me a message on Loom. I'd love to see it. All right, we'll catch you on the next episode. See you later.
