SUMMARY BY CHATGPT

Tom Antion shares four simple iPhone tricks designed to save time and frustration. Most have Android equivalents, although the exact steps may differ.
• Share Reminders and lists: In Apple’s Reminders app, open or create a list, tap the Share icon, select the person and send it. Once they accept, they can access the shared list—useful for groceries, business supplies, or collaborative to-do lists.
• Enter numbers without permanently switching keyboards: Hold down the “123” key with one finger, type the number with another, then release “123.” The keyboard automatically returns to letters.
• Copy all or part of a text message: Long-press a message bubble and choose Select. Adjust the selection handles if you only need part of the message, tap Copy, then paste it wherever needed.
• Precisely position the cursor: Press and hold the spacebar for about a second. The keyboard becomes a trackpad, allowing you to slide your finger to position the cursor exactly where you need it. Tom considers this especially useful for correcting typos and autocorrect mistakes.
Bottom line
These are small iPhone features that can make everyday typing, editing, sharing, and copying considerably faster. The spacebar-as-trackpad trick is the standout tip because it eliminates the frustration of trying to tap precisely between letters on a touchscreen.
Tom also points listeners to his previous phone-tip episodes, available by searching “phone” on the Screw the Commute training page.

Episode 1165 – Phone Tips
[00:00:08] Welcome to Screw the Commute. The entrepreneurial podcast dedicated to getting you out of the car and into the money, with your host, lifelong entrepreneur and multimillionaire, Tom Antion.
[00:00:24] Hey everybody, it's Tom here with episode 1165 of Screw the Commute podcast. Today we're going to talk about another great episode of Phone Tips. And you Android people, don't despair. You can do most of this stuff. It's just I don't know how to do it on an android. Just take the idea and then Google how to do it on an Android. All right. I hope you didn't miss episode 1164. That was no number one rankings. We want R and R, we want recommendations rather than results. And that's all the differences that you got to worry about and learn about. And there's special links in there to teach you how to get recommended by AI. So that was 1164. Anytime you want to get to a back episode, you go to screwthecommute.com/then the episode number, that was 1164 and the automation book is out. The new one version 4.0 at screwthecommute.com/automatefree. Make sure you grab your copy because it's going to blow you away with the helping you go faster and with less hassle. screwthecommute.com/automatefree and check out my mentor program, greatinternetmarketingtraining.com and my school at IMTCVA.org, certified to operate by SCHEV. All right. Let's talk about I'm going to give you one, two, three, four tips that are going to help you out on your phone. And by the way, I have loads of episodes on cell phone tips because you're on it all day anyway. You might as well learn how to use it. So if you just go to screwthecommute.com/training and then control-f or put in the search box phone, you'll bring up all the phone tip episodes.
[00:02:12] They're short with stuff that helps you. I mean, these phones will do a million things, but I try to pick out the ones that will really help you, you know, get through the day faster with less hassle. Okay, first one today, sharing reminders. So if you want to share a reminder with somebody else or, um, a list of something, a grocery list or what to pick up at the business store, you know, business supplies, whatever you're doing. So you click on the reminder app and then you either make a new list or open a list you already have. Then you click the share icon. That's the little square with the up arrow. Then you select the contact who you want to share it with or how you want to share the the, the reminder you want to do messenger. Do you want to do text whatever you want to do and then click send. Now on their end, they have to accept it and then click open and there you go. So you just shared a reminder with somebody else rather than trying to copy and paste and do all kinds of stuff. All right. That's the first one. All right. The next one is some of these things, folks you're going to wish you knew years ago. Let's say you want to type a number without switching the keyboards. Now it's good to have use both hands for this kind of stuff. So maybe in a sense, the the one, two, three symbol that switches to the other keyboard. So if you just hold it down, like with your left thumb, it switches to the numbers and you can type the number with your right hand.
[00:04:01] And you've got to have two hands to do this. And then if you let up on the one, two, three, it switches back to the regular keyboard, right? How many of you knew that? All right. These are these are great things that just can help you go faster. Where do you get to the last one? Oh my goodness. I fought with this for years, but okay, so that was typing numbers without switching keyboards. Next one is copying and pasting from a text message, either a portion or a whole bubble worth of text. So what you do is you long press on the text bubble that you want, and the menu is going to pop up and one of the things is going to be select. And so you just click select and then you can still even just take a piece of that text by highlighting and pulling the blue bubbles to where you want to grab. Then you tap copy. And then of course, wherever you want to put it, you click paste. Okay, so that was copying pasting from text. All right. Now this last one. Oh my goodness. Oh oh my goodness or OMG. Did you ever just fight with yourself? Let's say you created an email or a text and you said, oh, I did. That wasn't what I meant to say. Or, you know, the auto fill put in the wrong stupid word and you want to fix it, right? Or you made a typo in a, in a word, and you want to go to that exact letter and change it.
[00:05:48] And it's and with my fat fingers. And if you don't have like a stylus with you, even if you have a stylus, this is what I'm going to show you right now is way easier. Okay, so here's the deal. You hold down the spacebar for one second, and then you can slide the cursor with your thumb or finger on the spacebar. You got to hold the spacebar down for one second, and then it's going to switch to just moving the cursor. You can move it left and right, up and down wherever you want. Exactly. Very easily with fat fingers even. Okay. So. So that's placing the cursor. So amazing little things, little, little tiny things you probably fought with for years. You can fix them by listening to these episodes. Like I said, go to screwthecommute.com/training. And of course, I've got 500 episodes of all kinds of stuff there. But if you hit control F or command F and put in the word phone, then it'll take you to all these little short training episodes and you'll be lightning fast and save yourself tons of hassle with your cell phone. So that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Check out my mentor program, greatinternetmarketingtraining.com, and my school at IMTCVA.org certified to operate by the State Council on Higher Education in Virginia. But you don't have to be in Virginia because it's quality distance learning. Check it out. All right. We'll catch you on the next episode. See you later.
