Episode 828 – Phone Tips
[00:00:08] Welcome to Screw the Commute. The entrepreneurial podcast dedicated to getting you out of the car and into the money, with your host, lifelong entrepreneur and multimillionaire, Tom Antion.

[00:00:24] Hey everybody! It's Tom here with episode 828 of Screw the Commute podcast. I haven't done one of these episodes for a while, but these are phone tips. Now yeah, I use iPhone, but you know, Android pretty much has a lot of the same features, and so you just have to figure out how to do them on Android. And plus this isn't really a how to, it's what can you do. And then you can easily find some YouTube videos to show you the step by step if you can't figure it out on your own. All right. So this is episode 828. Hope you didn't miss episode 827. That was a personal bandwidth. In other words, how many projects can you comfortably handle at once and move forward in your life and in your business? And then episode 826 was a bunch of side hustles that, hey, if you put a bunch of them together, you could probably replace your income now. So that was 826. Anytime you want to get to a back episode, you go to screwthecommute.com, slash, then the episode number. Side hustles was 826. Personal bandwidth was 827. And today phone tips is 828. Now make sure you pick up a copy of our automation book. It's screwthecommute.com/automatefree. You will thank me for it because it'll save you hundreds of hours into the future. And check out my mentor program at GreatInternetMarketingTraining.com. It's the longest running, most successful, most unique ever in the field of internet and digital marketing.

[00:01:52] All right, let's get busy here. All right, so the first tip, these are just random tips on your phone. So this is how to recover permanently deleted text messages. Now you have to have I iOS 17 for a lot of these tips to to take effect. So you simply go to messages and edit and then show recently deleted and then select text and then recover. And there they are. You can also do it by restoring a previous computer backup from iCloud. Now, I told you this wasn't going to be how to, but if it's pretty simple, I'm going to go ahead and throw it at you now. The search function for messages now on iPhone has really improved. You can use all kinds of filters to find photos, certain people and text in the messages and things like that. So you can really if you have loads and loads of messages in there, you can search them a lot easier. Now. All right. Now for a while they've had a health app in iPhone, but now they in iPhone 17 you can you can store your eyeglass or contacts prescriptions in there. You know, whoever keeps track of those things when you need them, especially if you want to order online like from Zenni Optical, places like that and save yourself hundreds of dollars. Like my glasses were 100 bucks on Zenni 440 at the optometrist. Same glasses. That's a little thing on your health app. Now here's an Apple Watch tip. I don't really have an Apple Watch, but it's about the flashlight.

[00:03:31] Do you know that you can make a strobe? You know, if you're riding your bicycle or something, you can actually put a red light on there to help with night vision. So anyway, Apple has that kind of thing and you can change the intensity of them and all that stuff. Okay. The next really cool thing now, now whoever you're FaceTiming with has to have iOS 17 also. But you can leave now a FaceTime voicemail in video. This is pretty cool. So but like I said, the person that you're trying to send it to has to have iOS 17 or they can't recover it. But you can now send FaceTime voicemails. All right. Now the next topic is widgets. Now a lot of you don't know or maybe do know, but there's a screen called the Today View, and you can customize that screen. If you're on your home screen, you swipe left to right and it brings up stuff that we call widgets and it'll, you know, for instance, from mine, I have the weather there, I have Google Maps and I have the Kindle widget. And it's really cool because if I'm reading a Kindle book, I can just swipe to that screen real fast, read on my Kindle book, and then, you know, go do something else. And then when I come back, I can swipe to that screen really quick and pick up reading where I left off in that Kindle widget.

[00:05:00] Instead of me opening the Kindle app, searching for the book, opening it back up and all. That stuff. So you can go to that screen and edit it and get rid of widgets that are on there. If you didn't even put them on there and then put on news, weather, sports, all the kinds of apps that you have usually have widgets associated, and then you can put them on that screen for really quick access. So that's a cool thing. All right. And then the last tip I'll give you is is nothing new with iOS. And this is certainly for all cell phones is airplane mode. And the tip that I want to remind people of is if you're using your phone to shoot videos, put it in airplane mode, because if not, you can get interrupted right in the middle of your video. You might have had the best shot on earth, best video you ever shot, and it gets interrupted with a phone call or something. So if you're going to use your phone for that, use airplane mode. So there's a bunch of cool tips there for you. Relisten this very short podcast, but relisten to it and start using some of those and you'll you'll be much more efficient on your phone when you're more efficient on your phone. I know you're all using it in business. You'll be more efficient and make more money in your business. All right, I'll catch you all in the next episode. See you later.
