Episode 639 – Service Gigs
[00:00:08] Welcome to Screw the Commute. The entrepreneurial podcast dedicated to getting you out of the car and into the money, with your host, lifelong entrepreneur and multimillionaire, Tom Antion.

[00:00:24] Hey, everybody, is Tom here with episode 639 of Screw the Commute podcast? Today, we're going to talk about service gigs. Now this is about bringing in cash in a hurry, using Zoom, Skype or whatever live platform you use. All right. We'll get to that in a minute. All right. Hope you didn't miss Episode 638. That was Jonathan Greene. Talk about a lifestyle business. He lives on a tropical island. It's super cheap. There's monkeys in the trees looking at him as he's lounging at the pool. Beautiful, beautiful online business. Anytime you want to get to a back episode, you go to screwthecommute.com, slash and then the episode number. Jonathan was 638 and today is 639. All right. Quick update on our program to get scholarships for persons with disabilities. Like I've been telling you, two of the people are blind and they're doing better videos than I do. So check it out at screwthecommute.com/disabilities. Yeah I think I made a mistake there. And click over to the Go Fund Me account. You can see the updates and it's a wonderful program to help them get scholarships so they can either get a good job, work from home in their own business or both.

[00:01:48] So check it out. Don't forget to pick up a copy of our automation e-book. This e-book has saved me hundreds and hundreds of hours that I could have spent fighting with my computer. But I didn't. I spent it with customers and prospects and developing products and services because that's where the money is and all the ideas in the book are cheap and free. So check it out at screwthecommute.com/automatefree and also pick up a copy of our podcast app at screwthecommute.com/app and put us on your cell phone and tablet and take us with you on the road. All right. Let's get to the main event offering services online. You'll be amazed at some of the services people are offering online. And some of these require the person buying your service. Well, when I say require, I mean, it will be a lot easier if you get them to have a USB webcam where they can detach it from their computer and point it wherever they need to show you what they're working on. And this is going to make more sense in a minute. Also, they might need a tripod to put the webcam on if they need both of their hands to do what you're telling them. Now this kind of sounds like a hassle, but believe me, people that want help with things and are willing to pay for it will get a webcam.

[00:03:11] The alternative would be to face their laptops, webcam or their cell phone's camera at whatever they want you to see. And these online services I'm going to be talking about could be one on one for individuals. Or you could offer group training. All right. Let's get into some of the services you could offer. And this is by no means a comprehensive list. I just want to get your mind thinking on. Wow, I can bring in money from stuff that I do easily. So here's something I'll bet you never thought of. Dog training. Yeah. People are doing it online and helping owners control their little, fluffy little beast. Okay. Other things like personal training, yoga, weightlifting, and and for many of these things I'm going to mention today, you don't need any fancy certifications. So many times, people with great expertise in something downplay that expertise and they say, Oh, no one would pay them for that. They are dead wrong. I have a student and she's probably listening to this who's been doing yoga for 50 years. She looks like she's 30. And I constantly have to remind her that with those credentials she does not need any kind of certification. She's the poster child for what she does, and people would gladly pay for her help. All right. How about language and translation type things? I also paid for this when I had to make a speaking trip to Mexico, and I paid for translation of one of my web pages into another language now that didn't need live interaction on Zoom.

[00:04:52] But I paid and I got the translation. Car repair. If you're handy with anything to do with automobiles, you can get paid to help people troubleshoot their automobile problems. Health and nutrition advice. Now, this one, you have to be careful not to technically give, quote, medical advice, but there are tons of health and wellness people helping people online. Many of the things I'm covering today could lead to recurring money, like signing people from your life. Health and Wellness calls up into a membership site for health and wellness, and maybe they could get recurring revenue from supplement sales. And I always put a caveat when I talk about supplement sales, because any time people ingest things, you have a potential for some damage. And so you should have a good insurance policy. All right. Here's another thing. I have two giant subzero appliances, a refrigerator and a freezer. Enormous built in to the kitchen. Each one would cost about $9,000 to replace, not to mention about being built in. And I have to have a wall redone to to put new ones in. Now I'm somewhat of a do it yourself or and there's a guy that will walk you through subzero repairs on live zoom. I just have to have my webcam or cell phone live streaming to him.

[00:06:23] And this can save many thousands of dollars. Now, if you have a good eye for decor, you could offer interior design services. Lonely hearts. Yeah, they're lonely people out there. And and yes, I know. Sexual services and cam girls take advantage of this, but there are legitimate services where you can just talk to an understanding person. Now, if you're an empathetic person, maybe this would be right for you. Video advice. I do this all the time for my students. I look at their recording environment and I includes microphone testing, background testing, camera angles and all that stuff. Audio training. I paid someone on Fiverr to walk me through some advanced audio editing with Adobe Audition. And guess what? I paid them a lot more than five bucks. You might know a particular piece of software that people want to learn how to use. You don't have to have some certification to tell me how to do something on a piece of software. You just have to be better than me with that piece of software, and I'm sending you money. I also paid for someone to teach me how to do a specific thing in Microsoft Excel. I did it again for word and sure. I could have hunted around for hours for some free help online, but I don't have that kind of time. Image Consulting. I got on with Rain Parviz. I got on a zoom call. I started her out in Image Consulting in Los Angeles.

[00:07:54] She was living in her parents basement. She'll she'll admit this. All right. And now she's a top image consultant in Los Angeles, one of the most image conscious places on earth. And I had her do a zoom call with me and we got on Zanni Optical to help me pick out my next pair of glasses. Beautiful grooming and hairstyles. Maybe you have an eye for hairstyles and beards and can advise people on what would look best for them. And makeup is big too. I mean, nail design tattoos. How about any kind of business consulting, copywriting, marketing, email marketing, social media marketing or whatever else they invent in the future? You know, if you figure it out, you'll be able to teach people, how about math, science, reading, those kind of tutoring things. I mean, many conscientious parents want their kids to actually learn something rather than be indoctrinated by the highly educated idiots running school districts. Musical instruments like piano, violin and trumpet as all can be tutored drums. And that'd be great. You know, you hear just banging on the drums in your house because somebody is getting tutored remotely for it. So are you getting the idea? People have realized that more and more things can be utilized and paid for online without the need to drive and pay high gas prices and take forever and be face to face with people who you don't know their medical history.

[00:09:30] So think about what services you could offer. You can promote them on Craigslist, Fiverr, Upwork, Freelancer, and any other freelance sites along with your website, blog, YouTube, Facebook, and all that stuff. So if you want help with this and the other million other things to be, have a successful online business, get in touch with me. I'm very accessible because I use that automation book that I told you about earlier. screwthecommute.com/automatefree. So I'm able to talk to prospects and customers and take care of people. That's why I don't have any lawsuits and people ragging against me online because I actually take care of them. They're not a crazy concept. So check out my mentor program. So the longest running, most successful, most unique ever in the field of online and digital marketing. And I'll be glad to discuss it with you. There's no high pressure with me, no kind of fancy sales techniques I use on, you know, I just tell you, hey, this is what could be, this is how we work. And if you like it, great. If you don't, that's okay too. I'm not going to change my lifestyle. That might change yours, all right. But not my rights. So check it out at greatInternetmarketingtraining.com and see what you could do online. Giving services to other people for money. I will catch you on the next episode. See you later.
