Episode 1073 – Phone Tips
[00:00:08] Welcome to Screw the Commute. The entrepreneurial podcast dedicated to getting you out of the car and into the money, with your host, lifelong entrepreneur and multimillionaire, Tom Antion.

[00:00:24] Hey everybody! It's Tom here with episode 1073 of Screw the Commute podcast. Today is going to be another one of our fantastic episodes on phone tips, so that you're lightning fast on your cell phone that you're on all day anyway, so you might as well learn how to use it, right? Right. Let's see. Hope you didn't miss episode 1072 that was preparing for power outages. I was thinking about this because of all the ice storms and high winds and all those kinds of things, and you don't want it to knock you out of business. All right, pick up a copy of my automation book at screwthecommute.com/automatefree. Make sure you get version 3.0. That's the latest. And check out my mentor program at GreatInternetMarketingTraining.com and my school at IMTCVA.org, certified to operate by SCHEV, the State Council on Higher Education in Virginia. But you don't have to be in Virginia. You know why? Because it's quality distance learning that you can fit in around other I hate to say dirty words j-o-b you know that dirty word or evenings? Weekends you can work on your classes.

[00:01:30] Okay, let's get into some phone tips here. The first thing that we got today is you and I may have done this before. We probably have close to 25 episodes on on phone tips. And if you want to get to really great on your cell phone, just go to screwthecommute.com/training and then hit control or command F that allows you to search the page and put the term phone or iPhone in there.

[00:01:58] And probably phone is better. And you'll come up with all the episodes on the ones I've chosen is really great for you in business. Okay, the first tip today is on screenshots. I use this all the time. So what I do is I use my phone a lot and I buy stuff, let's say, or I pay a bill when I get the confirmation screen or the receipt. Basically, I do a quick screen capture of it, because if the email doesn't get to me for some reason, or gets filtered or spammed or whatever, then I don't have proof that I paid and it'd be a big production to go and get the credit card records out and everything. So I just do a quick screen capture and just leave it sit in my photos. So how do you do that on an iPhone? Well, you hit the you pull up the screen, you want a copy and you hit the side button and the volume up button quickly and release them both quickly, and you'll hear it almost like a camera sound. It took a screen capture and then you can save it to your photos. So that's how I do it mechanically. But Siri can also do it. You know, let's say, uh, you're working on your car and your your hands are a little greasy and you've been reading a page or something, and you want to save a certain settings for your carburetor or who knows.

[00:03:25] So you could just say, hey, Siri, take a screen cap. I better shut up because she's gonna listen to my phone here. So you say, hey Siri, take a and what we're talking about today. And uh, you can then have it saved to your phone. All right. So that's screenshots very handy. Use it all the time okay. Next thing is, you know, you might be running out of space if you didn't buy the highest grade, uh, iPhone and the lower storage. And you shoot trying to shoot a lot of videos and things that take a lot of file size. Um, there's a quick way to review all the stuff that's taken up a lot of space. And also, I've always need to mention this for you Android users. I don't know how to use Android. It probably has most of these features, but you have to get the idea and then figure out how to do it on Android, which just, you know, YouTube video probably help you there. Okay, anyway, we want to take a look at all the large files that we have. So you go to settings and then general and then storage or I storage and then review large files. And then it'll bring a list of all the files that you got that are big and show you how big they are. And all you have to do is tap on it to see what it is, that it'll expand because they come out real small.

[00:04:58] And then if you say, oh, I don't need that video from so and so, then you swipe on it left and then there's a red thing that says delete and probably a confirm after that that you really want to delete that file. Okay. So that's a reviewing large files. All right. Now these next two I'm going to work them together a little bit with an example. Let's say you were looking at a web page on something that your kid wanted for Christmas or your spouse wanted for Christmas, but you didn't. You know, they use your phone quite a bit, let's say, and you don't want them to know about it. Okay. So that's the scenario here. So the first part of it is how you save a Safari web page as a PDF file. So that'll be for many different purposes. But you know it's going to play along with this one I'm going to give you now. So you pull the web page up in Safari, and then you either long press on the address bar of that web page, or usually there's three dots. Either I think it might be at the bottom. And that'll bring up a menu and you click share. And then you click options and then choose PDF. And then you always hit the check mark to confirm. And then you can save it to your files app. All right. So you open the web page long press on the address bar or hit the three dots.

[00:06:32] Click share. Click options. Pick PDF and then click the check mark to confirm and then save to your files. Okay, so that's the first part of our scenario here that maybe we don't want anybody to see that PDF for many reasons, but let's say in this case, it's their birthday coming up or Christmas or something like that, and you don't want them to see that you've been looking at their present online. So in this case we're going to hide or make that PDF file private. And so you go to files and then you browse to find that PDF file. In this case we're going to make the make a password so they can't get into it. Okay. So files browse to the PDF you want. You might want to change the name to. So it doesn't say Christmas present for Sally or something you know. Then you tap there's a little carrot which is like a little tip of an arrow next to the name. And that'll bring up a another menu and you click lock And then you toggle on the thing that says require password. And then of course, you put a password in. Don't forget what it is because I don't know how to retrieve them. And then confirm the password and then click the check mark. And now you have that PDF file of the present that you were looking for. But they can't get into that page.

[00:08:18] And like I said, if you name it something generic or work related or household related rather than gift for Sally, then they won't even know if they're on your phone that it exists. But if they did trip on it, they'd have to put a password in, say so. So those two are together saving a web page in Safari as a PDF and then putting a password on it. So. So there you go. There's some more tips that I'm telling you. If you went back through all my episodes and just worked on one a week. One tip a week. You would be so screaming fast on your cell phone, you'd have all kinds more time to waste time on TikTok. All right, so there you go. So check out my mentor program. Greatinternetmarketingtraining.com. The longest running, most successful, most unique ever in the field of internet and digital marketing. I'm considered the OG, which I thought was old guy, but it's apparently original gangsta because I've been in selling on the commercial internet since it started around 1994. So check it out and if you're in my mentor program, you get a scholarship to my school, which you can either use yourself for extra training or gift to somebody, and it would be one of the best gifts you could ever give them. All right. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. We'll catch you on the next episode. See you later.
